DIY Acorn Wreath – Serretta Style

I’m all about inexpensive crafts and decor. The only thing I paid for on this wreath was the foam part that I glued the acorns to. Here’s how you can make one too!

First, gather acorns. Gather A LOT! I had a ton and I barely had enough.

Next, wash the acorns thoroughly or they will get gross and moldy! I tried not washing them and they got super gross!

Let the acorns air dry after about an hour, then bake. I let mine bake at 175 degrees Fahrenheit for 2 hours. Leave the oven door cracked open during the bake and move the nuts around every 30-40 minutes.

If you’d rather skip all of that manual labor or want to save some time. Here are some artificial ones that are perfect.

Here are the supplies you’ll need along with the acorns.

You’ll need a foam wreath

(this link is for a set of two-it’s cheaper ?)

Hot glue gun

and a lot of hot glue sticks

Attach the acorns to the wreath and that’s it!

And more gluing and gluing! I burnt the tips of my fingers doing this so please be careful! It takes quite a while to get them all glued.

Here’s what you’ll end up with! I love the texture of all the acorns!

You might want to just leave it as is if you like the natural look. I wanted to paint mine and here’s how it turned out!

Here it is on my door. I added a little glitter spray and it’s a fun little detail.

I used this white spray paint.
